EICR testing in Southampton

An Electrical Installation Condition Report checks a building's fixed wiring, sockets, light fittings and distribution boards, and shows whether they are still safe. Landlords, insurers and employers are all likely to ask for one.

We carry out electrical installation condition reports in Southampton, Winchester and Portsmouth, for single lets, HMOs, offices, shops, schools and larger sites. If anything needs putting right, we explain it in plain English and quote for it separately.

How EICR testing works

What to expect

  1. Estimate. Tell us about the property and we confirm the price in writing.
  2. Inspection. We test the installation and tell you straight away if anything is dangerous.
  3. Payment. The invoice covers the inspection and report, whatever the outcome.
  4. Your EICR. Issued once payment has been received in full.

Working to a deadline? Book early and allow time for payment. See clause 10 of our terms for EICR documentation.

I’m very happy with the service provided by the two workers who came to my shop a few days ago for a routine inspection. Both were professional, friendly, and polite. They carried out the checks carefully and efficiently, and everything went smoothly. Great service from both of them. Highly recommended!

Dushi Electrical was very professional and friendly. He came on time and on a Saturday which was really great as my whole bathroom light and fittings needed replacing so I could safely shower. I have used Dushi Electrical a couple of times and they have been consistantly great. I would recommend them to anyone.

Common questions

How much does an EICR cost in Southampton?

It depends on the size of the property and the number of circuits to test, so we price each job individually. Tell us about the property and we will give you a written estimate, valid for 30 days.

Is my job too small for you?

No. We are just as happy changing a light fitting or adding a socket as we are rewiring a house or fitting out a business premises.

How often does a property need an EICR?

Private rented homes need one at least every five years. We recommend every five years for most commercial premises and every three for industrial sites. For a home you own and live in, every ten years is the usual guidance.

When will I receive my EICR?

Certificates, EICRs and compliance documentation are issued once payment has been received in full, and can take up to four weeks to arrive from the date of final payment. See our EICR payment terms. If we find anything dangerous, we tell you straight away.

Are you NICEIC approved and insured?

Yes. Dushi Electrical Ltd is an NICEIC approved contractor with public liability insurance. Our workmanship comes with a 12-month warranty, and materials and parts carry the manufacturer's warranty.

Do you only work in Southampton?

No. We are based in Southampton and also work in Winchester, Portsmouth, the New Forest and the towns in between. If you are not sure about your postcode, just call.
